Favorite Movie

One of my favorite movies is I Am Sam starring Sean Penn and Michelle Pfeiffer. Pfeiffer, a ruthless lawyer, is working for Penn, a mentally handicapped father trying to retain custody of his daughter. I love everything about this movie: the vibrant colors, the camera angles, the Beatles covers, not to mention the storyline that makes me laugh as much as cry. The characters are believable (important for a realist like myself), and the themes of community and family transcend traditional social, academic, and familial boundaries.

What is your favorite movie and why?

My favorite movie is THE NOTEBOOK staring Ryan Gosling, Rachel McAdams, James Garner, and Gena Rowlands. This movie is about Allie (Rachel McAdams)a rich girl from the city and Noah (Ryan Gosling)a middle class boy from the country, as they go through their teenage years and old age. Allie and Noah become teenage sweethearts over the summer where they become very close and their true love starts to bloom. But one day Allie's family decides Noah is a bad influence on Allie and they leave back for home. Noah writes Allie letters telling her how much he misses her and loves her for an entire year. But Allies mother hides the letters from her, leaving Allie with no clue about Noah. Later Allie gets engaged to a southern man with money. When Noah goes to the city to get building plans approved he sites Allie and the old spark of love is lit. Allie learns of Noah through a newspaper article and goes back to the little town where Noah lives. There she is forced to choose between her true love and fiance. This movie is told by Noah in an older version to Allie because she can't remember anything about their past. He reads to her so she can remember. The way the story is told makes me cry and laugh. Laugh because their teenage love is so believable and cry to see how much he truley cares about her.

I Am Sam is my favorite movie too. It is a coincidence that I watched it not last Saturday but the week before that (Sept. 20). There is a coldhearted lawyer who believes that Sam could "never afford her" (I Am Sam) and tells him that she knows someone who can help him. She never calls him back to tell him the new lawyer's name. Sam sees her at a party and ask her the other lawyer's name but to make herself look good in front of the other co-workers she says she is/will do it for free. What I really enjoy is how she helps him and their friendship grows throughout the trial to get his daughter back.

One of my currently favorite movies( but doesn't outshine the classics like Forest Gump) is "P.S. I love you". I'm a total sucker for a romance, and this satisfied me. In the beginning this woman and her husband are fighting, a few weeks later he passes away. You would think theres nothing to a movie after that right? no. throughout the movie her late husband sends her messages , he had prepared for this, and had wanted her to be able to move on. This movie is amazingly sweet and touching. It also has great scenes, espeacially when she goes to Ireland to see his parents. That part of the movie really touched me, not only becuase of the fact that she got closure, but the beautiful scenes of Ireland that it showed.

My favorite movie The Fighting Temptations starring Cuba Gooding Jr. and Beyonce Knowles. This Movie is about Darrin Hill(Cuba Gooding Jr.), a rich advertiser in New York City who gets word of his Aunt Sallie's death and heads to Monte Carlo, Georgia where he later finds out in his aunt's will that he is to lead the Beulla Baptist Church Choir. Lily(Beyonce)is an amazing singer and the most beautiful girl in town who is considered unclean by the Church because she had a son at a young age. In the end, Darrin takes the choir to the Gospel Explosion where he later leads them to the victory of winning. I love this movie because it shows one mans struggles to fight past everyone in his path and get his choir into this huge event. The music in this has a great gospel feel and makes you wanna jump up and dance around. I personally am a big fan of this movie because music hits home with me and thats where my heart lies in gospel and church choirs. I would recommend this movie to anyone who loves gospel music, wants a good laugh, and wants to know what it's like to fight temptations.

My favorite movie right now is Baby's Mama. When I saw it at first I thought it would be one of those stupid movies with no story line, but I was wrong. The characters are funny and dynamic. The plot keeps you guessing until the end. Also, it carries a great message of friendship. I know that sounds really, REALLY corny, but I can't say much else about it without giving it away to anyone who hasn't seen it yet.

Since I am a movie-attic, picking a favorite movie is a hard task. However, Forrest Gump has been my favorite movie for years. Forrest Gump is about a growing boy (Tom Hanks) who has a brain problem. He is an unintelligent man who overcomes harsh remarks and obstacles throughout his life. Although his IQ is low, he accomplishes many tasks and achieves various goals. Forrest meets the President, becomes a football idol, dances with Elvis Presley, and helps run Bubba Gump's Shrimp Co. The movie's reiterated statement,"Run Forrest, run," displays the theme of never turning back. The emotional movie exhibits hope, faith, and love. Winning 13 Academy Awards, Forrest Gump demonstrates a positive attitude about life with romance, drama, and comedy.

Chocolat featuring Juliette Binoche, Judi Dench, Alfred Molina, Lena Olin, and Johnny Depp is my favorite movie of all time. The setting takes place in an old French town secluded from surrounding cities. It has the feeling of warmth and tranquility with every building and the actions of the characters. The characters peaceful and there is little drama that goes on.
When a strange woman named Vianne arrives with her daughter early one Sunday morning the villagers become suspicoius. She opens a chocolate shop with beautiful sculptors and delicious treats all made with homemade chocolate. The taste of every morsel that the villagers eat transforms there sullen attitudes into loving attitudes. They feel love from her candy therefore, they show love.
This film turns me inside out and makes me crave for a piece of this taste of heaven. Chocolat is the kind of movie that is good for a rainy day. When all I want to do is snuggle in a blanket and feel cozy I always watch my favorite movie, Chocolat.

This is one question I can not answer. This is because the movies I watch are based on the mood I'm in at the moment. Among the best movies created in my opinion are; The Departed, Atonement, Rent, Love Story, Titanic, Pride And Prejudice, Chicago, Forest Gump, P.S. I Love You, The Notebook, The Butterfly Effect, and Catch Me If You Can. However I guess the one that stands just slightly above the rest would have to be Memento. Memento is about a man named Leonard who suffers a rare brain disorder after an accident: he can't form new memories. The accident is a man breaks into Leonard's house and kills Leonard's wife and hits Leonard in the back of the head, forcing him to remember everything before the accident in perfect detail, however forgetting what he learns afterwards in a matter of minutes. He seeks vengence on the man to cause him so much anguish and through the process he tries to figure out what is true and real, and the deeper he sinks into a multi-layered abyss of uncertainty and surprises the more he starts to realize the truth, and the more he realizes how he doesn't want it in the end. As if this movie wasn't twisted enough, the movie is shot out of order. It shows one scene, then jumps backwards, then plays another scene and catches back up to a different scene, however within the chaos, the movie comes together beautifully surprising and organized in the end. This movie is my favorite because it is able to grasp and hold on to my attention, which is normally a hard task to do. Also this movie is filmed so cleverly that once you watch it, it intrigues you to replay the movie over, and over again. I'm aware most, maybe even all have never heard of this movie, nevertheless watched it, however I recommend it for any thrill seeker, or anyone who likes smartly done movies.

One of my many favorite movies is Fried Green Tomatoes. In this movie, Kathy Bates is having trouble with her marriage to husband, Ed Couch, played by Gailard Sartain. During the movie, while at a nursing home visiting a relative, she meets Jessica Tandy, another lady in the nursing home. From that day on, every time she is at the nursing home, she sits with Ninny Threadgoode (Tandy), who always tells her stories of when she was younger. The stories are about Idgie Threadgoode and Ruth Jamison and they take place at the Whistle Stop Cafe, in Alabama. The stories inspire Evelyn Couch (Bates). Strong-willed Idgie is encouraging to Bates and since Bates is trying to lose weight in the film anyways, she is encouraged to keep trying and not give up. Ruth is independent and shows Evelvn that she can make it on her own and that she doesn't need her husband to decide things for her. One famous quote from this movie is "I found out what the secret to life is: friends. Best friends." This is said by Ninny Threadgoode and I believe that it summarizes the movie well. The movie is really about friendship and towards the end Evelyn shows her true friendship to Ninny by letting her come live with her after she leaves the nursing home even against Ed's word. This among several scenes, shows her change from always obeying Ed to standing up and being independent.
I like this movie because of the flashback form. When Tandy is telling stories, the movie goes back to the view of the characters in the story, not of Tandy and Bates.

My favorite movie is Gone in 60 Seconds staring Nicholas Cage, Angelina Jolie, and Giovanni Ribisi. In this movie, Memphis (Cage) is a retired car theif that must get back in the business to save his brother, Kip's (Ribisi), life. The deal was that if Memphis and his "crew" could steal fifty cars in one night, then Kip could live. I love the fast pace action that runs through out the entire movie and all the muscle cars featured it.

Oh my gosh, I love this question. My all time favorite movie would have to be O Brother, Where Art Thou? This movie is actually (very)loosely based upon Homer's Odyssey. It's set in the 1930s in Mississippi. The main character, Ulysses (played by George Clooney), and his partners Delmar (Tim Blake Nelson) and Pete (John Turturro) bust out of the chains and go on an adventure. Ulysses wants to bust loose to win his wife's heart back before she marries another man and the only way he can get loose is if he takes Delmar and Pete with him. He tells them that they are going to find treasure, and only have a few days to get it. Along their way they find themselves in unlikely predicaments. They meet a man who sold his soul to the devil, sirens, a blind man who can predict the future, a bankrobber who hates cows ("Cows! I hate cows worse than coppers!"), and many other interesting people all the while trying to get on their way. These "Soggy Bottom Boys" help make this movie a hilarious take on the classic epic and makes it much more interesting. This movie has inspired me to want to read the Odyssey and compare the two. This movie also has the most amazing soundtrack filled with old timey gospel bluegrass and hymns.

I have several favorite movies but if i had to pick one it would have to be"The Wizard of Oz".I love this movie because some of my earliest momories were of watching it with my aunt who meant the world to me.What I like about it is that it is something that you could only see in your wildest dreams and for the main character,Dorothy, that's exactly what it is.She is caught in a tornado and is knocked unconsciuos when her window is blown out and hits her in the head. This starts a wild dream for her which includes everything from munchkins to flying monkeys.I recommend to anyone who hasn't seen this movie to go out right now and rent it because to me this movie is a timeless classic.

One of my favorite movies is Pirates of the Caribbean:Curse of the Black Pearl starring Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, and Keira Knightly. In this movie, Captain Jack Sparrow(Depp) gets his ship, The Black Pearl, stolen by Captain Barbossa and he's left on an island. Barbossa and his crew raid a village and kidnap Elizabeth Swann(Knightly), who has the gold medallion they're looking for. Will Turner(Bloom), a blacksmith who loves Elizabeth, teams up with Sparrow to try and save her. While on the ship, Elizabeth realizes that the crew is cursed to live forever and need the medallion and her blood to break the curse. As soon as the curse is broken (by Will, because they really needed his blood to break the curse) Sparrow shoots Barbossa. I love the suspense, mystery, and humor in this movie and I also like the other 2 movies. :)

This is a really hard decision for me because I have tons of favorite movies, but if I had to pick I would probably say Juno. Starring: Ellen Page, Michael Cera, Jennifer Garner, and Jason Bateman. A young teenage girl (Page) becomes pregnant and faces the many difficulties of dealing with a teenage pregnancy. She decides to give the baby up for adoption and later develops a somewhat odd relationship with the future father. She learns many of lifes lessons during these chaotic 9 months. I love the humor in this movie, its very sarcastic and dry. To me, its the best kind (:

My favorite movie is The Longest Yard staring Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Nelly, and Burt Reynolds. It is about Paul Crewe [Sandler] a former NFL football star who is thrown into a maximum security prison. The warden orders him to put together a team of inmates a play a fixed game against the harsh prison guards. Little do they know the inmates show the criminal sides of them to out way the fixed game. When the "Mean Machine" surprise the guards by tying them at halftime, the warden orders Crewe to throw the game to keep him from looking bad, but Crewe does not follow in this hard hitting fun filled ride.

This is a hard question because I like alot of movies, but my all time favorite is The Little Mermaid. This movie was one of the first movies I have ever seen. In this movie a mermaid named Ariel,(voice by Jodi Benson) fantasizes about living with the humans. Ursula,(Pat Carroll)the multi-armed seahag, makes a deal with Ariel to allow her wish of being human to come true. But to remain human,Ariel must kiss the love of her life, Prince Eric. While Ariel is getting closer to Eric, Ursula is trying to break them apart. Ursula's plan is to take over the underwater kingdom. Ariel has to defeat Ursula, and does it thanks to her water loving friends.Eventually Ariel defeats the witch, and her and Eric get married and sail off on a boat. I think that I like this movie because of its songs. It has different songs to go with the story. Eventhough I haven't seen this movie since I was ten, I still remember all of the songs.

My favorite movie is ACE VENTURA PET DETECTIVE- WHEN NATURE CALLS. Ace Ventura is a pet detective who loves animals and can almost talk to them and understand them. He is sent to Africa to find a rare white bat that has been kidnapped from a local tribe. On his journey through Africa he finds himself in many sticky situations such as fighting a warrior from another tribe, excapping a mad poacher, and overcomming his hatred of bats. Even though Ace loves animals, it doesn't mean that he has to love All animals. This movie makes me laugh everytime I watch it. To me it just never gets old.

My favorite movie would have to be AUGUST RUSH. This movie is so captivating in how it tells the story of this young boy and how he meets back up with both of his parents at the same time. The movie starts off with a young woman getting pregnant and her parents putting her son up for adoption because they think she is too young and busy to have a child at this specific point in her life. As the young boy grows up somehow he ends up in New York and is drawn to another young boy playing a guitar for money. The wizard, the man who is taking care of the boy, takes August in and lets him play music for money to. August picks up the guitar and plays some unique music and that was actually when he was given the name August Rush. August always thought that if his parents could just hear his music they would know where he was and find him. This movie has an incredible ending but I won't ruin it for people who haven't seen it even though they can probably guess. I love this movie.

All the batman movies are my favorite. But my absolute favorite is The Dark Knight, Because Christian Bale is my all time favorite actor. I have seen pretty much all of his movies. Batman is my favorite super-hero of all time. He is a better batman than Michael Keaton,(i think thats how you spell it)he makes it so much cooler and his character doesnt portray that he is a super hero. He acts like a spoiled rich man in ther movie. He keeps his super hero identity secret. He is just amazing.

My favorite movie is an animated movie called Spirited Away, by Hayao Miyazaki. It’s about a young girl named Chihiro who becomes trapped in a world of magic and spirits. She has to find who she and summon the courage she never knew she had to free herself and her parents. This is my favorite movie because this movie has elements for everyone: magic, adventure, greed, power, and believing in yourself and abilities.

Now this is going to sound really corny but my favorite movie is THE JUNGLE BOOK. I am sure most of you all know the story and the characters so I'm not going to sumurize it. The things I love of the about this movie is the music it has. I also love how the music goes along so well with the movie. The history behind the movie is also very intresting, this movie was the last movie Walt Disney worked on and wasn't fishned until after he died. Some of the most loveable characters and memorable music has come out of this movie; one of my favorites is THE BARE NESSESTICES. This song seems like it is always stuck in my head, I even went as far as to put it on my iPod.

I have quite a list of favorite movies is so I'll pick the most recent addition, Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden? This documentary is brought to us by Morgan Spurlock, the guy from Super Size Me. It is a comical adventure through the Middle East, in which Spurlock asks locals about the war in Iraq, their views of America, and of course the whereabouts of Osama. Although the movie seems to be about Bin Laden, it really describes the problems that the war on terror has caused, and how it ironically increased the amount of terrorism. This wonderful documentary covers a serious topic and is very insightful, and I love it because it can be so serious and funny at the same time.

Other than Spiderman and Talladega Nights, my all time favorite movie is The Lion King. The animated movie, set in Africa, is the story of a young lion living in a lie. Simba, the small lion, is proclaimed lion prince, which makes his Uncle Scar second to the throne. Scar plots to kill his brother Mufasa, the Lion King, and the young lion prince Simba. Simba witnesses his fathers death and is told by Scar that it was his fault. Simba becomes upset and flees the kingdom. The rest of the story is of Simba living the lie of killing his father and overthrowing his liar uncle, Scar.
The movie created a full affect on me when i was about three of four. During the part when Mufasa died i screamed at the tv and bawled my eyes out. I would watch the movie almost nonstop everyday, right when it ended i wanted to watch it again. I would also become very violent if someone tried to turn it off. Even though i still love the movie, i don't tell family i won't love them if they turn it off.

My favorite movie is the new Speed Racer. Although it just came out, it is one of my favorite movies of all time. The old speed racer TV shows were my dad's favorite show of all time, therefore it has been passed on to me. The new speed racer is a twenty-first century, futuristic change to the story. Throughout the movie are vivid colors, flowing across the scene. This is one of the reasons it is my favorite movies, the excellent special effects. Speed is trying to become the best racer of all time and he is trying not to wreck in the looping track full of obstacles and enemies. Hidden plots reveal themselves as time goes along. These are several reasons that SPEED RACER is one of my favorite movies of all time.

Wow, I have so many movies that i love. This is probably the question i hate the most. Sweeny Todd, Across the Universe, Lord of the Rings, Remeber the Titans, Radio, The Mummy, Constantine, all Tim Burton films, Drop Dead Fred,Star Wars, all Disney Movies, and Phantom of the Opera are probably my favorites all the time. The one that really sticks out the most to me at this point in my life is Phantom Of The Opera staring: Gerard Butler as the phantom, Emmy Rossum as Christine Daae, and Patrick Wilson as Raoul, music by Andrew Loyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart and Richard Stilgoe. This movie has some of the best music I have ever heard, along with great, costumes, designes, camera angles, and props. This movie takes you back to the opera populaire of paris in the 1970's where tales of an opera ghost once haunted the musicains that came to the opera house to preform or to be in the audiance. He was refered to as the Phantom of the Opera. The Phantom was a genius with a disfigured face. He would hide behind a mask in the darkness of the music of the night. His voice would send you soaring and his music would give you flight. An inspiration you might call him, to those who knew his true talents. He dwelled in the catacombs bellow the opera house secretly hiding, secrtly dreaming of beauty. Christine was his angel. His one true love you might say. He lusted for her body and soul. He controlled her until Raoul,Christine's child hood sweetheart, came into the picture. Raoul heard Christine singing one night at the opera populaire and remebered immedialty after looking upon her face who she was. Raoul suddenly went to find her and speak at once and he didn't care if she remeberded him or not, becuase he remebered her. The phantom did not like this at all and grew jealous. He had shared everything with christine, his secrets, his music, his very existince, his reason for living with her. This is as much as i can say because i dont want to ruin the movie for all those who haven't seen it. The movie is mostly about a man that has been hurt and ridiculed that hides behind a mask in the dark under an opera house. He grows up there and the only thing he knows is music. It is his life. He falls in love with a woman that is clearly in love with someone else. At first he doesn't understand but in the end he lets her go to love someone else. He no longer haunt's Christine and Raoul even though he is still madly in love with her and always will be. This romantic tale ends with the saddest scene. At Chirsines grave when Raoul went to visit one last time you will find a red rose with a black ribbon and on the black ribbon you will find an engagement ring that the phantom gave to her that she returned to him on her grave sight. It has the best camera angles and music at this point in the story. The phantom is a die hard romantic. With out the music this movie would amount to nothing. It inspires musicians today all over the world.Once you have seen the movie, you are past the point of no return.

"Grease", starring Olivia Newton-John and Johnny Travolta exceeds every other movie ever made in my mind. The plot is a typical tale of seniors in high school, accented by extraordinary musicality. Sandy (Olivia Newton-John) is a "good girl" from Australia, while Danny (Johnny Travolta) is the rebel at Rydell High. The opposites attract and cannot be kept apart desite difficult circumstances. The music definitely makes the movie for me. Each song is relevant to the movie and conveys the theme of each set. "Grease" is a light, upbeat movie about love and growing up.

The movies that intrest me the most are funny movies, or a little bit of action. To my suprise, one of the most memorable movies to me is DEJA VU. It's been awhile sense ive seen it so some of the details i cannot recall. The main character of the movie is Douglas Carlin, a special agent, played by Denzel Washington. He is a great fit for this role and portrays his character well. The movie can be quite confusing, if you consider the title "Deja Vu". The movie starts off with the explosion of a ship carrying thousands of U.S. Navy sailors. Douglas is set on the case to try to investigate the meaning of this crime. From here on out, a clear summary is hard to come by. The plot gets extremley confusing, yet very intresting. Basically in trying to solve this crime, another crime is uncovered. Dougals joins a new team in which the detectives can look into the past using a program called "Snow White". They can only see the past events one time, no reruns. Caught between both crimes they try to decide which to focus in on. The crimes unfold and the "bad guys" are discoverd. Later in the movie Douglas discovers that "Snow White" can be used as a time machine. Douglas goes back in time and trys to stop the crimes before they happen. The ending is pretty dramtic so i perfer not to give it away. Although the movie sounds almost scifi and packed with action, almost anyone would enjoy it. I went to see it with my sister and we both loved it.

I believe my favorite movie wouldn't be a movie but rather a mini-series. :O The HBO mini-series Band Of Brothers based off the novel written by Stephen Ambrose that follows the 101st Airborne Division throughout the Western World War II campaign. The ten part mini-series is centered around "Easy" company and their journey from basic training camp to Germany. The mini-series are based off true events and the characters in the story face the same fate as their real world counterparts. A rather unique technique for these mini-series is that each episode is directed by a different directors thus leaving no episode shot the same. The different camera angles, multiple settings, lights, and the developing characters makes these mini-series a classic in my book.

Wow! I love this question but it’s so hard to decide. I am a sucker for all classic movies. My Fair Lady staring Audrey Hepburn is one of my all time favorites along with Vertigo staring James Stewart and The sound of Music. Mary Poppins, Phantom of The Opera, Old Yeller, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Notebook and Life is Beautiful are others that I can watch over and over again without getting bored. Even though I could name a list as long as my leg, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers would have to be my absolute favorite movie! It’s a musical and even though that turns some people off, It’s what makes this movie so spectacular! The casting was excellent for this movie. Adam(Howard Keel) and Milly(Jane Powell) do an outstanding job in this film. The storyline is: Adam, the eldest of seven brothers, goes to town to get a wife. He convinces Milly to marry him that same day. They return to his backwoods home. Only then does she discover he has six brothers all living in his cabin. Milly sets out to reform the uncouth siblings, who are anxious to get wives of their own. Then, after reading about the Roman capture of the Sabine women, Adam develops an inspired solution to his brothers' loneliness . . . kidnap the women they want!(http://www.rambles.net) All the brothers are given biblical names by their mother in alphabetical order. This is one of the funniest elements in the movie. After Adam they are Benjamin, Caleb, Daniel, Ephraim, Frank(incense) ("cause he smelled so sweet") and Gideon. They are all handsome and brawny, and their characters are very personable. This movie is witty and heartwarming but my favorite part is the dancing. Michael Kidd's choreography is astounding. It is woven so flawlessly into the story that it's one of the films essential parts. The numbers combine athletics and strength with ballet technique and grace. The actors look like they are having the greatest time which makes this movie so easy to watch. It is colorful and real and the songs aren’t cheesy! That is why I love Seven Brides For Seven Brothers!!

My favorite movie since fifth grade has been Center Stage. The movie is about dance and illustrates exactly what it takes to become a professional dancer. In the movie several girls, and men, are trying to achieve the same goal; making it into the American Ballet Academy in New York. Throughout the movie each character deals with different types of stress. Some are very self conscious about their weight, while others just need more technique training. Since I am a dancer the movie appeals to me ,and conflicts in the film are everyday problems dancers are faced with. I have watched this movie many times and I can get up in front of the tv and do all of the dance combinations with the characters. Center Stage is full of drama, comedy, and romance. Watching this film helps me have more of an appreaciation for the arts and a greater passion for dance!

My favorite movie has been the same since I was very little, The Godfather. The movie is about a Mafia family in the 1940s, called the Corleones. The Don in the beginning of the movie is Don Vito Andolini/Corleone. He later dies of a heart attack in his tomato garden and one of his son's Michael, a WWII Marine Veteran, is the new Don. The book is mainly about conflicts between the other four families from New York, the Barzini's, Tattaglia's, Cuneo's, and the Stracci's. The beginning of the movies takes place at the Corleone family compound, for Connie's wedding, the only daughter of Vito Corleone. Johnny Fontaine, a fictious singer and godson of Vito Corleone, comes to the Don for advice. Jack Woltz, a big time movie director, does not want Fontaine to play in one of his movies, and threatens to ruin his career. Fontaine asks for a favor, and the Don sends out his adopted son/family attorney out to California, and is very persuasive. He has someone in the Corleone family named Rocco kill Jack Woltz's favorite horse and then put it in his bed while he is sleeping. Later in the movie, a man names Sollozzo asks Don Vito for a narcotics deal, but the Godfather refuses. He does not believe in the trafficking of narcotics, Sollozzo is an enforcer for the Barzini family. Don Vito sends in one of his most trusted men, Luca Brazi. He has Luca pretend that he is unhappy with the Corleone family, and wants to get away from them. Sollozzo knows that it is a setup, and then stabs him in his hand, and another Barzini comes up from behind Brazi and strangle him with a fiber wire. This later causes the Barzini's to attempt to assassinate Don Vito, but they are unsuccesful. Michael then goes to the hospital to protect his father, in the fear that the Barzini'a will try to kill him again. Police later come to the hospital and try to get Michael away from the his father. Michael says no, and the a police officer by the name Cpt. McClusky punches Michael in his face and breaks his jaw. McClusky is a crooked cop working the Sollozzo. Later, Michael arranges a meeting with just the three of them. With the help of Pete Clemenza, Michael kills them both. He shoots Sollozzo in his forehead, and then McClusky in his throat, and then his forehead. He drops the gun and leaves the restuarant. Because of this, Michael is forced to migrate to Sicily, under protection from another Mafia Don. There, he meets his first wife, Apollonia, who is later killed by his best friend Fabrizio, who betrays him. Back in NYC, Michael's brother, Santino aka Sonny is killed at a toll booth by the Barzini's. Michael returns to NYC and reunites with Kay, his longtime girlfriend, and they end up getting married. After Don Vitos death, Michael becomes the Don of the Family, mainly because of the actions he committed that forced him to leave America. He then gets revenge on all of the four families, having all of the Don's killed. This has been my favorite movie because of the lessons it teaches you. It teaches you that if you receive a favor, you are expected to return one. It also teaches you that your family is the most important, and not to screw them over. Many people believe that Don Vito is an evil character, but he is not. He only kills people who deserved to be killed, and keeps the dirtbags out of his neighborhood. He is a caring, respectful person. Vito Corleone is actually a very good person. This will always be my favorite movie.

My favorite movie is The Pirates of the Carribean (the original). This movie is mainly about how Captain Jack Sparrow tries to get his revenge on Captain Barboossa after he stole Jack's ship, the Black Pearl. While trying to get his revenge and take back the Pearl, Captain Jack Sparrow meets some interesting characters like Will Turner and Elizebeth. I just love all of the action with the sword fights and the ship battles. I also like the elaborate schemes that Captain Jack Sparrow come up with. I just like Jack's character in general. In the movie, the camera angles are amazing. For instance, one camera angle is when the ships are battling, it shows just the fuse burning on the cannon. The lighting throughout the movie is low key except in some places where the scene is outside to show how the pirates are deceiving and sneaky. This is one of the best movies of all time in my opinion.

Favorite movie....hmmm...I'm gonna have to go with Dumbo. This has been my favorite movie since I was little. It of course is a Disney movie (a classic). Dumbo is about a baby elephant with giant ears which everyone in the circus makes fun of. His mother is taken away from him early on in the movie, which adds to his despair. In the end he and his mouse friend Dumbo's mother and it is a classic happy ending.

My favorite movie is FACING THE GIANTS starring a group of volunteer actors from a local church. The stars include Shannon Fields, James Blackwell, Bailey Cave, and Tracy Goode. This movie, produced by a church in Georgia, chronicles the story of Shiloh High School football coach Grant Taylor. Taylor has never had a winning season, has an unreliable vehicle that often breaks down, has a home that is literally falling apart, and has a wife that is unable to bear children after multiple attempts. One evening Coach Taylor hears some parents plotting to have him removed as head football coach. At this point Coach Taylor's life has hit rock bottom and he turns to prayer. After his praying, the team's season takes a turn for the better and the team finds themselves in the playoffs. In the state championship game, a young boy named David is called upon to hit a game winning field goal. He makes it and the Eagles defeat the Giants. This is symbolic of David defeating the giant Goliath.

I love everything about this movie especially the fact that it used actors and actresses no one had ever heard of. The most important thing I like about the movie, though, is that it shows the power of prayer. For a Christian, like myself, this movie is a dream and a vision for what could happen in the hallways of our own school. The main theme of the film would be "Facing the Giants" because not only to the Eagles win on the football field, but the Coach's wife faces a giant of her own as she successfully has kids and relationships between students and their parents are restored.

I'm going to have to agree with tylerd that Where in the world is Oasama Bin Laden is the best recent movie made. i found it to be a very intersting film and one of the best documenetries I've ever seen.
But Ill have to say that my favrite film of all time would have to be The Machinist which was made a couple years ago and stared Christian Bale and Jebbifer Jason Leigh and was directed by the modern film genuise who is Brad Anderson. The film is so amazing becouse of the acting of Christian Bale, it is hands down the best film hes every been in. The movie is a very suspense movie that sorrounds Bale who is slowly crossing the line inbetween insanity. And how this effects the people around him. I dont want to say alot about the movie though cause i dont want to give away anything, but take it from me its the best movie ever made in my mind.

I have to give nate w props for not being afraid to say his favorite movie is a childrens disney movie, but my absolute favorite movie of all time is The Boondock Saints. The movie is about two devote irish catholic twin brothers (Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus) who take it into their intrest to become vigilantes. One night they recieve a vision from God telling them to destroy any evil. The brothers help break up the biggest mob in Boston, the Russian Mafia. The police don't really take it into their interest to the crimes because they realize the the pattern of the "evil men" who are being killed. The multiple killings draw a famous FBI agent (William Defoe) who is baffled throughout the entire movie who the vigilantes are until he finds a shot off finger at the scence of a shoot out. He eventually unravels the mystery of the brothers, but decides to keep it to himself because they technically did not do any harm. This is my favorite movie because I have Irish heritage, and am Catholic so I can relate to the brothers easily. I also like that they have a good cause to kill the men, so, although controversial, is a good thing to do because they are ultimately doing a good deed. It shows that sometimes you have to get your hands dirty for things to work out.

My favorite movie is the Anchorman, starring Will Ferrel as Ron Burgundy, San Diego's favorite anchorman. Ron is part of the leading news team in the area and the boys are all successful in doing their part. All is well until the decision is made to hire a female reporter. Veronica is a hard nosed reporter with the dream to become a national news anchor one day and will not let her love with Ron get in the way of this dream.

My favorite movie is Sleepy Hollow starring Johny Depp and Christina Ricci. It all begins when Ichabod Crane is sent to solve the mystery of the four (later five seeing how the Widow winship is pregnant) in the settlement Sleepy Hollow. On that evening he meets the Van Tassel family, including the entrancing Katrina Van Tassel. Baltus Van Tassel then tells him that the beheadings are caused by a dead hessian soldier, a.k.a. the Headless Horseman. Along with Katrina and the young Masbeth boy(seeing how his father becomes the sixth victim), go to explore the western wood. Throughout the movie the explore the themes of wealth, murder, witchcraft, memories, and betrayl. In the end the Headless Horseman is sent back to his grave forever, with the person who was manipulating him. There are a total of 16 deaths (15 murders and 1 suicide). Although the movie is a bit grim and gorey, it has an amazing story plot and a mystery with a shocking twist in the end.

My favorite movie is Juno staring Ellen Page (Juno) and Michael Cera (Bleeker). This movie takes place over four seasons starting in Fall when Juno, a sixteen year old junior in high school, finds out she is pregnant with her best friends baby. For the next three seasons, the viewer is taken on the journey of unplanned pregnancies. After visiting an abortion clinic, Juno decides to keep the baby but give it up to an adoption family. The chosen parents, an upscale couple (one of whom is cool and laid back, the other meticulous and uptight), meet Juno, sign papers, and the year unfolds. I love this movie because it has much humor and the story ends good.

ONE of my many favorite movies would have to be Ten Things I Hate About You starring Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles. Both characters are outcasts as seniors in high school. Heath's character is paid by a preppy guy to take Julia out on a date so that he could take Julia's younger sister out. In the end, Heath and Julia's characters fall in love! This movie has so many realistic points throughout it, I get so wrapped up in its meaning when I watch it. This movie is also one that will bring your spirits up when you are down.

Well, andy stole my favorite movie, Boondock Saints...so i suppose i will have to say that my other favorite movie is Remeber the Titans. You would figure a jock, such as myself, would pick a football movie as his favorite. however, it is not just because it is a football movie that i picked it. Remeber the Titans is a very good, well acted and written movie. the movie is about a high school football team that is one of the first in the country to segregate. there is a large amount of conflict between the players, but as the movie goes on they grow together and begin to become a team. of course with a bit of "encouragement" or shall i say running put on by the coach. the movie shows that you can face diversity and push through it and become a family, even if it isn't what everyone wants. it is a very good movie, but is a bummer at the end when one of the main characters dies in the hospital due to a car accident.

My favorite movie is The Thief and the Cobbler. This movie is my favorite because there are laughs all throughout the movie. This is also the punniest, yes punniest, movie I've ever seen. I've also got to give props to Sweeny Todd. Even though this movie is mildly morbid, it's a very entertaining. The Phantom of the Opera is also very good, if not mildly depressing. All in all, these movies are my favorite movies because they are all engaging and entertaining.

My favorite movie would have to be Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street. It is actually a musical type movie, but is not a very joyous, care-free movie. It is about a barber who wants to kill the judge who sent him to prison so he could have Todd's wife. This movie is mildly morbid, but trully a great film.

My favorite movie is The Bucket List staring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. This movie is about two terminally ill men that break out of the cancer ward to go do all the things they have ever wanted to do before they 'kick the bucket'. Along their journey around the world, the two become close friends and ultimately heal each other before dying and being burried together.

My favorite movie is A Beautiful Mind starring Russel Crowe and was directed by one of my favorite directors, Ron Howard. Crowe plays John Nash, a brilliant mathematician who can solve codes and thing in his head. The government recruits him after he leaves college. Throughout the movie Nash begins to see that some things are just not possible, like his best friends niece doesnt age and neither does his friend. Other facts lead him to believe some things arent real. He struggles to find out was is really happening and what is all in his head. It is a nail biting story that will leave you on the edge of your seat. It is also great because it is based on a true story!

My favorite movie is rent. I fell in love with this movie because you not only fall in love with the characters but you might also feel what they are feeling throughout the movie. You may experience love, happiness, tragedy,
togetherness, stuggle and friendship that will make you feel so different as soon as the movie is over. I cannot summerize it as well as the back of the dvd case did so i quote,"Set in New York City's gritty East Village, the revolutionary rock opera RENT tells the story of a group of bohemians struggling to live and pay their rent.'Measuring their lives in love'these starving artists strive for success and acceptance while enduring the obsticles of povety, illness, and the AIDS epidemic. RENT is based on Johnathan Larson's Pulitzer and Tony Award winning musical, one of the longest running shows on Broadway. The raw and reviting musical stars Rosarrio Dawson(mimi), Taye Diggs(benny), Wilson Jermain Heredia (angel), Jesse L. Martin("collins"), Idina Menzel(Maureen), Adam Pascal(Roger), Anthony Rapp(mark),Tracie Thoms(joanne)and is directed by Chris Columbus." In my opinion, this is a must see movie that will change your life forever, just as it did mine.
